Gladson to the Rescue!!!*

Supervalu Shelf Management is committed to helping our retailers reduce their labor costs and increase their sales. One of our newer initiatives is the Gladson Shelf Strips. These quick set image strips show set-up personnel exactly where to place each product according to the POG.

Recently, these strips were used at the Hornbacher’s Osgood store in Fargo, North Dakota. Due to unusual circumstances the reset team had to rely heavily on the Gladson Strips as spot stock was not allowed in most sections during the initial set. The grocery portion of this 65,000 square foot store was completed in just a few days. The enhanced HBC (Power Drug) was also set exclusively with Gladson Strips. The time and labor saved in these sections was immense. As with all section resets some minor adjustments need to be made when product arrives.

The Shelf Management team has used Gladson Strips over the past several months for varying size sections and sets. The strips with product images take guesswork out of the equation. And there is even back tags for pegboard sections. There has been a time savings of up to 50%, thereby, opening the store aisles sooner and getting back to business.
