Day in the Life of a Product

Ever wonder what happens to your product once it reaches Gladson?  Products manufactured all over the world arrive at Gladson’s door each day.  Semi-trucks  pull  up  to  the  Gladson dock and the products inside begin their journey.  The first stop is the Scheduling Station where products are checked for damage and scanned into the Gladson computer system.  The scheduler identifies the product’s appropriate path through Gladson based on the company forwarding the product.  Image selections are also made… will this product need Space Management, E-Commerce or ad images?  Does this product need to fly through the coding process for quick inclusion on Walgreens.com?  Is it a new product from Kraft being quietly imaged, categorized and moved to the holding area until the rest of the CPG world gains access to it?  These issues are addressed by Scheduling, and then the product continues on its journey where it is weighed and measured.  Height, width and depth measures are captured with state of the art lasers to 1/100th of an inch, specifications defined by the Product Technical Requirements Group and the Global Data Synchronization Network of the UCCNet.

Finished in Scheduling, the product moves to Imaging where several views may be taken depending on the service needs chosen.  If a product is intended for E-Commerce, it continues to the E-Com Coding Department where capture of product label detail follows.  All product label information is meticulously transcribed for customer use and consumer education.

Once the product has been weighed, measured and imaged, Gladson’s Quality Assurance Department steps in.  Quality Assurance checks all information and images to ensure they meet Gladson’s standards of excellence.  If a product’s information or images do not meet minimum standards, Quality Assurance sends them back and the process begins again.

Selected products continue their journey by heading to Gladson’s advertising studio.  In this studio additional glamour advertising images are staged and captured.  For most products, however, the journey draws to a close--they are either packed up and returned to their sender, or held in the Gladson warehouse until donated to local food banks, shelters and families in need.
